We're kind of a a mid tempo, slightly depressing, groovy band.
- Our family being active in their church choirs, I think that harmony was just something, something I heard a lot of as a kid.
You know, once we started playing together people would remark on it more as an oddity.
Pretty much every show we play, somebody will walk up to us and say, "You remind me of the Everly Brothers."
(laughs) Because they're like the most famous duo that's existed I think for, for the kind of harmonies we're into.
And I just think of how angelic their voices were, so I don't really want to be compared to them in any way but if we remind people of them, that's cool.

- You might have noticed we've been singing some harmonies tonight, (laughs) but quite a while ago it was just me and Jack singing, singing together, we didn't have any of our band with us.
We didn't have you guys here.
And maybe we didn't have enough friends, I'm not sure.
But this, this next song is about friendships and kind of finding your, your crowd and the people who inspire you.

And then we have like Pop Wagner doing old cowboy songs.
And there were people who had been at it for a while and a lot of friends our age all kind of mixing up and.
- Lots of bars to play at.
After we'd been doing our residency at the Turf Club for about a year City Pages ran their best of Twin Cities column and had the Turf Club as best country bar.

It's a kind of a funny one.
I think it might be one of my only dream songs where I was having a dream, I can't remember the whole thing right now or I don't wanna tell you.
But I ended up in this office hall and there was a computer from the '90s with little, you know, like external speakers attached to it.
Remember those?
But I heard this song coming off of it and I thought, man that's a cool Beach Boys song.
And I was like, wait, I think that's me and Page.
And I got just enough of a melody that when I woke up I grabbed my phone and put on the piano thing, which I had never really used.
And my wife thought I was still asleep and she just heard ding, ding, ding, ding coming from the side of the bed and I was trying to record the melody and, and then I approximated the words later.
