- I have the distinct honor and pleasure to have been named the oral historian for the Transgender Oral History Project at the Tretter Collection at the University of Minnesota.
You meet June, you can't help but love her, no matter what her identity is.
And so those are the kind of stories that I want people to see and be able to have access to.
- I've known Andrea for a long time.
And that archive is going to be priceless.
Story is absolutely essential to this.
It's not something that's nice, it's not something that's interesting.
It's what produces revolutions.
What Andrea is doing at the university is extraordinary, in that she's getting on tape the story of all kinds of transgender people and getting it down for all time.
- This phenomenon that we call the transgender experience has been happening since the beginning of time.
