Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(playful music) - [Narrator] Dorothy McIntyre paved the way for girls sports in Minnesota.
Dorothy was a physical education teacher in the 1960s.
She heard the call from girls at her school who wanted to have the same chance to play sports as boys.
When she was told that the girls couldn't compete because they didn't have a bus driver, she learned to drive the bus herself.
With her bus driving, campaigning, and organizing, she paved the way for girls' equal access to sports.
Dorothy McIntyre, a Minnesota pioneer for girls and women's rights.
