(gentle music) (frogs croaking) - So when did you first hear about the back-to-the-land movement?
When did you guys first become conscious of it?
- Jane told us that she bought that land, and we went to Rising Moon.
Somebody who owned it before needed some quick money, and we had the cash and we bought it.
So then we had it, and what are we gonna do with it?
'Cause we knew we wanted to be in the country.
And we said, let's have a women's community.
The whole thing about Rising Moon, we were sitting on the edge of the garden, the moon was coming up, and we said, "How should we name the property?"
We said, "Let's call it Rising Moon."
And that's how the name came.
- [Speaker] That's a great story.
- [Speaker 2] Yeah, it is.
(gentle music) - This is a hackamore bit, it goes over the nose instead of into the mouth.
And it was thought to be more gentle.
- That mine.
Diana and I rode our horses from Wisconsin to Aiken, and then our friend came and brought teepees that we had made, and we set up.
And so we were living in teepees on the land at Rising Moon.
