THE UPS AND DOWNS OF IT ALL HAD ME ON THE COUCH CHATTING WITH MY THERAPIST.
NOW I’M ON UPPERS-AND-DOWNERS TRYING TO REGULATE MY HORMONES.
LISTEN, MANAGING MY EMOTIONS DURING MENOPAUSE IS A CAKE WALK COMPARED TO TRYING TO KEEP COOL IN THE FALL WHEN TEMPS DROP AND THE LYNX, VIKINGS, AND GOPHER FOOTBALL TEAM HEAT THINGS UP.
LET’S START WITH THE LYNX.
THE UPSIDE: THE LADIES MADE WNBA HISTORY.
YES, HONEY!
THE DOWNSIDE: THEY WERE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE RECORD BOOKS BECOMING THE FIRST #1 SEED TO BE ELIMINATED BY A #8 TEAM IN THE PLAYOFFS.
NOW ON TO THE VIKINGS.
SKOL!
THE UPSIDE: THEY BEAT THE BRAKES OFF THE PACKERS, BUCS AND BEARS.
I HAVE NO DOUBT WE WILL MOLLY-WHOP THOSE WHALES — I MEAN, [CHUCKLE] DOLPHINS ON SUNDAY.
THE DOWNSIDE: OUR STAR PLAYER, JUSTIN JEFFERSON, IS HURT AND HIS RETURN TO THE FIELD IS “MURKY” SO WE NEED A MIRACLE.
I’M GOING TO PUT JJ ON MY CHURCH’S SPECIAL NEEDS PRAYER LIST.
AND FINALLY, GOPHERS FOOTBALL.
THE UPSIDE: THAT HISTORIC BARN BURNER GAME AGAINST WASHINGTON LAST SATURDAY NIGHT THAT DIDN’T END UNTIL SUNDAY MORNING WAS EPIC.
FOLKS ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT IT.
THE DOWNSIDE: AFTER PJ FLECK WIPED THE BLOOD FROM LINEBACKER MAVERICK BARANOWSKI’S MOUTH AND SMEARED IT ON HIS FACE, AS A MOTHER, BEFORE I TAKE MY KIDS OVER TO HUNTINGTON BANK STADIUM TOMORROW TO WATCH THE MATCH-UP AGAINST MICHIGAN, I HAVE TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE DRESSED TO PREVENT COLD AND FLU AS WELL AS COMMUNICA
